Massachusetts H2557 mandates trauma kits in public buildings and designates trained personnel.
Massachusetts H2557, known as the Massachusetts Trauma Response Preparedness Act, requires public buildings and certain other facilities to have trauma kits readily available. These kits must contain materials to help bystanders provide first aid for serious bleeding. The bill also mandates that these buildings have on staff a trauma kit designee, trained and certified by the American College of Surgeons or an equivalent organization. The number of kits per building is determined by a formula based on the building's maximum capacity, developed by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
