Massachusetts H2449 amends the General Laws to allow towns, cities, and districts with artificial fluoridation programs to suspend these programs. Municipalities can end fluoridation through a local ordinance, initiated by a petition signed by at least ten registered voters. Additionally, if water superintendents or commissioners deem fluoridation risky, they can also suspend the program.
