Allows licensed funeral establishments to own and operate crematories.
This bill amends Chapter 114 of the General Laws to allow a person, partnership, corporation, association, or other organization owning a licensed funeral establishment to own and operate a crematory. The crematory must be located on land within the cemetery that the Department of Environmental Protection determines is suitable. The crematory must be part of the cemetery or a licensed funeral establishment.
