Massachusetts H2300 allows local governments to appoint associate members to planning boards.
Massachusetts H2300 amends the General Laws to give cities and towns the option to appoint associate members to their planning boards. If a planning board has five members, one associate member can be appointed. If a planning board has more than five members, two associate members can be appointed. These associate members can fill in for regular members in cases of absence, inability to act, conflict of interest, or vacancy. The procedure for appointing these associate members is determined by the local government.
