Massachusetts H2165 requires trade contractors and subcontractors to maintain or participate in registered apprenticeship programs for contracts issued more than ninety days after the bill's effective date. These programs must be approved by the U.S. Department of Labor or Massachusetts. Contractors must employ apprentices registered through these programs throughout the contract duration. Effective January 1, 2023, eligible apprenticeship programs must have graduated apprentices to journey worker status for at least three of the past five years.
