The bill creates a special legislative commission to study the use, disposal, and potential re-use of durable medical equipment in hospitals and care facilities under the jurisdiction of the Commonwealth. The commission will consist of 13 members, including chairs of relevant committees, health department officials, and representatives from various health-related organizations. The co-chairs will convene the first meeting within 21 days of all appointments being made, and the commission will meet at least four times.
