Introduced Text

Modernizes incentives for the direct care workforce in Massachusetts by adjusting wage rates.

This bill amends Chapter 149 of the General Laws to modernize incentives for the direct care workforce in Massachusetts. It mandates that the executive office of health and human services adjust wage rates for direct care staff and direct support professionals to align with the 75th percentile of positions in the commonwealth. The bill also requires state agencies to submit a list of jobs for human services workers before awarding contracts and requests the secretary to determine wage rates, including fringe benefits and payroll taxes.
