Establishes penalties for interfering with or harassing first responders.
The Halo Act amends Chapter 271 of the General Laws to establish penalties for knowingly approaching or remaining within 25 feet of a first responder with the intent to impede or interfere with their duties, threaten them with physical harm, or harass them. First responder is defined to include law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency medical technicians, and others whose duties involve responding to emergencies. Violations are punishable by fines and/or imprisonment.
