Introduced·2/27/25
Introduced Text

Massachusetts H1885 amends legal proceedings for court-involved children and families.

Massachusetts H1885 amends legal and administrative proceedings for court-involved children and families by modifying several sections of Chapter 119 of the General Laws. It allows children aged 12 and older to petition to vacate orders terminating parental rights if adoption is no longer the permanency plan. The bill also mandates that courts consider Section 29C when making orders for child visitation. Additionally, it grants courts the authority to appoint neutral investigators to gather facts in care and protection proceedings.
