This bill amends Massachusetts law to set minimum sentence terms for first-degree murder committed by individuals aged 18 to 20. For such cases, the court must set a minimum term of 30 to 60 years. For cases involving extreme atrocity or cruelty, the minimum term is 40 to 60 years. For cases with deliberately premeditated malice, the minimum term is 35 to 60 years. This applies to sentences of life imprisonment for first-degree murder committed by persons on or after their eighteenth birthday and before their twenty-first birthday.
