Introduced·2/27/25
Introduced Text

Transfers the Victim Compensation Fund to the Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance.

The bill amends the General Laws to transfer the Victim Compensation Fund to the Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance. It grants the executive director of the Office the authority to promulgate rules and regulations necessary to carry out the chapter. The director can apply for and receive funds to administer the requirements of the chapter. The bill also updates various references from "division" to "agency" and from "he" to "the victim" or "the claimant" to ensure gender neutrality.
