Introduced Text

Enhances access to abortion in Massachusetts by updating consent requirements, prohibiting certain practices, and expanding access to information.

The bill enhances access to abortion in Massachusetts by updating consent requirements, prohibiting certain practices, and expanding access to information. It mandates that a pregnant person's written informed consent must be obtained in a multilingual form before an abortion, except in emergencies. Conscientious objections are not valid if an abortion is required to preserve the life of a pregnant person and no other medical staff are available.
