Massachusetts H1786 prohibits level 3 sex offenders from residing together in the same dwelling.

Massachusetts H1786 amends Chapter 265 of the General Laws to add a new section prohibiting level 3 sex offenders from renting, residing, or occupying a single-family dwelling or a unit in a multi-family dwelling with another level 3 sex offender, unless they are legally related by consanguinity, affinity, or adoption. Violators face a fine of up to $1,000, imprisonment in a house of correction for up to 2 ½ years, or both, with written notification to the sex offender registry board.
