Relative to the safety of courthouses and remote court proceedings

Enhances safety measures for courthouses and remote court proceedings in Massachusetts.

This bill amends the General Laws to expand the authority of court officers and those authorized to act as court officers. It grants them police powers when attending court proceedings outside courthouses, escorting jurors, escorting judicial officers, or participating in the care, custody, or transport of detainees. The bill also extends these powers to the grounds adjacent to the courthouse, including parking areas.
