Massachusetts H1717 establishes penalties for the theft of bulk merchandise containers.

Massachusetts H1717 amends Chapter 266 of the General Laws by adding penalties for the theft of bulk merchandise containers. The bill specifies fines and potential imprisonment for offenders based on the number of offenses and the value of the stolen containers. A first offense carries a fine of up to one hundred dollars, a second offense a fine between one hundred and two hundred fifty dollars, and a third or subsequent offense a fine of up to five hundred dollars or imprisonment for up to six months, or both.
