Relative to sex offenders

Introduced·2/27/25
Introduced Text

Massachusetts H1702 prohibits level 2 or 3 sex offenders from living or working within 500 feet of schools, day care centers, or child care.

Massachusetts H1702 amends the General Laws to restrict level 2 or 3 sex offenders from establishing a home address, intended home address, or any other living accommodation within 500 feet of any public or private school, licensed day care center, or child care facility. The bill also prohibits these offenders from accepting employment within the same distance from these properties. This measure aims to enhance the safety of children by limiting the proximity of high-risk sex offenders to places where children congregate.
