H1662

Relative to coerced abortion

Introduced·2/27/25
Introduced Text

Massachusetts H1662 mandates facilities performing abortions to post notices and inform patients about their rights against coerced abortion.

Massachusetts H1662 requires facilities performing abortions to post signs in English and Spanish, informing patients that it is illegal to force someone to have an abortion. The signs must be in patient waiting and consultation rooms. The attending physician must verbally inform the patient of these rights. Patients must certify in writing they were informed. Failure to comply results in fines and allows for civil action for damages.
