Relative to the reckless discharge of firearms

Establishes penalties for recklessly discharging firearms causing substantial risk of serious injury.

This bill amends Massachusetts law by adding a new section that imposes penalties for intentionally or recklessly discharging a firearm, large capacity weapon, rifle, shotgun, sawed-off shotgun, or machine gun, resulting in a substantial risk of serious bodily injury to another person. Penalties include up to 5 years in state prison or up to 2 ½ years in the house of correction.
