Introduced Text

Establishes uniform standards for electronic recording of real property documents in Massachusetts.

The bill, known as the Uniform Real Property Electronic Recording Act, sets standards for the electronic recording of real property documents in Massachusetts. It allows registrars to receive, index, store, archive, and transmit electronic documents, and to convert paper documents into electronic form. The Secretary of State is tasked with adopting standards for these electronic recordings, considering various factors such as other jurisdictions' practices, national standards, and the needs of different counties.
