Relative to local preference in affordable housing

Massachusetts H1474 allows municipalities with populations between 65,000 and 150,000 to prioritize local residents for affordable housing for 30.

Massachusetts H1474 directs the secretary of the executive office of housing and livable communities to create regulations allowing certain municipalities to prioritize up to 70% of affordable housing vacancies for local residents for at least 30 years. This applies to privately assisted housing and inclusionary zoning requirements. The regulations must take effect within 60 days of the bill's passage.
