Promotes housing stability for families by strengthening the HomeBASE program.
The bill strengthens the HomeBASE program to promote housing stability for families. It allows families facing eviction for no-fault or excused fault reasons to apply for short-term housing transition benefits. Families can receive up to $50,000 in the first 24 months and up to $25,000 in subsequent 12-month periods. The executive office must not impose income eligibility restrictions on enrolled families and must allow them to combine benefits from the short-term housing transition program and residential assistance for families in transition funds.
