Provides tuition waivers for children raised by a grandparent or other relative in Massachusetts.
This bill amends the General Laws to establish tuition and fee waivers for residents of Massachusetts who are raised by a grandparent or other relative. The waivers apply to individuals who have been the subject of a legal guardianship and are either reaching the age of 18 or enrolling in a Massachusetts institution of higher education. The cost of these waivers will be borne by the commonwealth, after federal reimbursements have been exhausted.
