Amends eligibility criteria for Medicare savings programs in Massachusetts.
This bill amends Section 25A of Chapter 118E of the General Laws to disregard income up to 165% of the federal poverty level when determining eligibility for the Qualified Medicare Beneficiary, Specified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiary, and Qualified Individual programs. These programs, also known as Medicare Savings programs, assist eligible individuals with Medicare costs. The division must implement a waiting list if the number of qualified applicants exceeds the annual block grant amount for the Qualified Individual Program.
