Introduced Text

Increases MassHealth dental provider access by offering supplemental payments for serving more MassHealth beneficiaries.

Massachusetts H1401 aims to increase access to MassHealth dental providers by offering supplemental payments to eligible providers who serve an additional ten or more MassHealth beneficiaries age 21 and older in a given year compared to the prior year. The supplemental payment is initially set at $31 per patient encounter for the first year and is subject to re-evaluation. To qualify, dental providers must be licensed in Massachusetts, enrolled with MassHealth, and serve patients in municipalities designated by the secretary of health and human services.
