Massachusetts H1400 prohibits requiring physicians to secure Maintenance of Certification for credentialing or reimbursement.

Massachusetts H1400 amends various sections of the General Laws to prohibit the requirement of Maintenance of Certification (MOC) for physicians in credentialing, reimbursement, employment, or admitting privileges. MOC refers to a continuing education program measuring core competencies in medicine and surgery, approved by a nationally-recognized accrediting organization. The bill applies to medical services corporations, health maintenance organizations, accountable care organizations, hospitals, and other institutions.
