The bill establishes a community health center nurse practitioner residency program to recruit and retain nurse practitioners at community health centers. The program provides a 24-month post-graduate residency for certified nurse practitioners who graduated within the past three years. Nurse practitioners in the program will have patient panels under supervision and mentorship of a physician or advanced practice registered nurse. The division will seek federal Medicaid reimbursement for the program. Regulations for the program must be promulgated within six months of the act's passage.
