Massachusetts H120 establishes a food system coordinator to improve state food programs.
Massachusetts H120 amends the General Laws to support the Commonwealth’s food system by having the Food Policy Council appoint a food system coordinator. This coordinator will serve as an employee, with access to all relevant agency meetings, and will advise all relevant departments. The coordinator will inventory existing state programs related to the food system, facilitate communication across state agencies, develop and track metrics, identify opportunities to eliminate duplicative efforts, and recommend improvements.
