This bill amends Chapter 111 of the General Laws to prevent medical bills from eroding an injury victim’s compensation received through a settlement or court award. It allows either the entity providing benefits or the injured person to petition the court for a determination of the reasonableness of the settlement and the fair allocation of amounts payable. The hearing on such petition adheres to the same procedural requirements as provided in section 15 of chapter 152 of the General Laws.
