Modernizes the process of recording deeds in Maine by replacing microfilm with digital images.
This bill updates Maine's record-keeping process for deeds by requiring registers of deeds to create digital images of recorded documents instead of microfilm. It mandates that these digital images be stored on magnetic or optical media and maintained for archival purposes. The bill also specifies that digital images must be at least 300 dots per inch or 300 pixels per inch. This change aims to improve efficiency and accessibility of recorded documents.
