Exempts from fees certain services performed by the Health and Environmental Testing Laboratory for criminal investigations.

This bill amends the Maine Revised Statutes to exempt from fees certain services performed by the Health and Environmental Testing Laboratory for criminal investigations. Specifically, it prohibits the Department of Health and Human Services from charging fees for testing or analysis conducted for criminal investigations related to substance use, blood-alcohol or drug concentration levels, or suspected illegal drugs. The exemption applies to services essential to public health.
