Failed·2/10/26
Tpdf Text

Exempts certain nonprofit agricultural membership organizations from insurance requirements in Maine.

This bill exempts nonprofit agricultural membership organizations that provide health care benefits and meet specific criteria from insurance requirements in Maine. These organizations must be in existence since 1951, provide health care benefits to members and their dependents, and conduct annual audits by independent certified public accountants. The bill also mandates that these organizations inform applicants and covered persons that their coverage is not provided by an insurance company and that they may be liable for unpaid medical expenses.
