LD880

Maine LD880 mandates nondiscriminatory access to financial services based on impartial, risk-based standards.

Maine LD880 aims to ensure fair access to financial services by requiring financial institutions to offer services on a nondiscriminatory basis. It mandates that financial institutions base their decisions on quantitative, impartial, risk-based financial standards. If a financial institution uses nonfinancial criteria, such as environmental, social, and governance scores or diversity, equity, and inclusion policies, it must disclose these criteria to the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation, Bureau of Financial Institutions.
