LD855

This bill restricts candidates from participating in the Maine Clean Election Act more than once every 15 years.

The bill modifies the Maine Clean Election Act to limit participation as a certified candidate for either House of the Legislature within a 15-year period. It also specifies that qualifying contributions collected more than 90 days before the declaration of intent has been filed will not count toward the eligibility requirements. This change aims to prevent candidates from repeatedly participating in the Maine Clean Election Act.
