This bill allows school administrative units in Maine to make purchases through cooperatives for nonbuilding real property.

The bill removes restrictions that prevent school administrative units from making purchases through cooperatives for the purchase, repair, or alteration of nonbuilding real property, such as athletic fields. It amends the law to allow these units to participate in cooperative purchasing through the Bureau of General Services, subject to prescribed procedures and regulations. This change applies to municipalities and school administrative units, overriding any contrary provisions in municipal charters.
