Maine LD782 amends MaineCare financial eligibility requirements by increasing income limits and asset limits for certain individuals.

Maine LD782 modifies MaineCare financial eligibility by raising the family income limit for qualified elderly or disabled persons from 100% to 138% of the nonfarm income official poverty line. It also increases the asset limits for individuals working with a disabling condition from $8,000 to $15,000 for an individual and from $12,000 to $25,000 for a household of more than one person. The bill directs the Department of Health and Human Services to establish these new asset limits by rule.
