Maine LD742 would allow out-of-state providers to offer telehealth services to Maine residents if referred by an in-state primary care provider.

Maine LD742 would permit health care providers licensed in another state to provide telehealth services to a patient in Maine if the patient is referred for those services by a primary care provider licensed in Maine. The primary care provider must obtain and document the patient's written informed consent to receive telehealth services. The out-of-state provider must be fully licensed without restriction in the state from which they provide telehealth services, including any licensing or certification requirements to provide telehealth services in that state.
