Complete·6/2/25

Expands the Maine Wage Assurance Fund to cover more weeks of unpaid wages and liquidated damages for employees.

This bill amends the Maine Wage Assurance Fund to increase the number of weeks for which payment may be made to employees from the fund. It also includes an equal amount of liquidated damages payable to the employee. The fund is intended to assure that all former employees receive payment for wages and liquidated damages when employers terminate business or file for bankruptcy.
