Removes the limit on free promotional merchandise bars and restaurants in Maine may accept from vendors.
This bill amends Maine law to allow the unconditional distribution of merchandise to on-premises retail licensees from licensed in-state or out-of-state manufacturers or wholesalers of malt liquor or wine, a certificate of approval holder, or a wholesale licensee. The bill removes restrictions on the amount of free merchandise, rebates, refunds, or gifts that can be offered to bars and restaurants. This change aims to provide more flexibility in promotional activities for businesses in the alcohol industry.
