LD61

Maine LD61 regulates employer surveillance to protect workers by requiring notification and prohibiting certain monitoring practices.

Maine LD61 mandates that employers inform prospective employees about surveillance practices during the interview process. It prohibits employers from using audiovisual monitoring in employees' residences, personal vehicles, or on their property. Employees can refuse employer requests to install data collection applications on personal electronic devices. The bill allows for a private right of action for aggrieved employees and grants rulemaking authority to the Department of Labor.
