This bill allows courts to set distance restrictions in protection from abuse orders.

This bill amends the law governing protection from abuse orders to give the court the authority to issue a final protection order directing the defendant to refrain from being within a specified distance of the plaintiff or prohibiting the defendant from being present at a specific location. This change takes effect January 1, 2026.
