This bill allows professional engineers to be licensed in Maine without further examination if they meet certain reciprocity agreements.
This bill amends the Maine Revised Statutes to allow applicants for professional engineer licensure to be licensed without further examination if they hold an active national council record and meet the requirements of a mutual recognition agreement. The agreement must be between Maine and another state, territory, possession of the United States, the District of Columbia, or any foreign country. The State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers must determine that the applicant's licensure qualifications are substantially equivalent to Maine's requirements.
