Tpdf Text

This bill modernizes Maine's motor vehicle inspection program by authorizing the use of an electronic inspection program and setting inspection fees.

This bill authorizes the Chief of the State Police to require the use of an electronic inspection program for motor vehicle inspections. It also sets a maximum fee of $20 for inspections regardless of the vehicle's model year and allows school bus inspection operators to charge $20 per inspection. The electronic inspection program uses electronically generated data and permits the creation and exchange of electronic records for inspection information.
