LD495

Requires estimates of climate effect reductions and consumer costs in rules to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The bill mandates the Department of Environmental Protection to include estimates of the reduction in adverse climate effects and the costs to consumers when adopting rules designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. These estimates must be based on sound scientific information and methods, covering the impact on prices of gasoline, diesel fuel, electricity, heating oil, and propane.
