Maine LD43 expands the conditions under which a court may revoke probation for contact violations.
Maine LD43 amends the law to allow a court to revoke probation if an individual has contact with a victim of another crime, even if the probation for that crime had already been revoked. This applies to individuals on probation for an unsuspended portion of a split sentence, those committed to the Department of Corrections, and those in county or regional jails. The bill aims to further protect victims by ensuring stricter enforcement of no-contact orders.
