This bill authorizes the issuance of up to $100 million in bonds to fund improvements to roads, bridges, and nonhighway transportation modes in Maine. The bond issuance is subject to voter approval in statewide elections in November 2025 and November 2026. If approved, the funds will be allocated to the Department of Transportation, with $85 million for roads and bridges and $15 million for nonhighway modes. The bonds will be managed by the Treasurer of State, who will also handle interest payments and debt retirement.
