This bill authorizes the issuance of $50,000,000 in bonds to replenish the Land for Maine's Future Program. The proceeds will be used for land acquisition for conservation, water access, wildlife and fish habitat, outdoor recreation, working farmland preservation, and working waterfront preservation. The bonds will be subject to voter approval in a statewide election. If approved, the bonds will be issued under the direction of the Governor and managed by the Treasurer of State. Any unexpended funds at the end of the project will be used for the retirement of general obligation bonds.
