Establishes an advisory council to review and revise the Maine Criminal Code and other criminal statutes.

This resolve creates an advisory council to oversee a review and technical revision of the Maine Criminal Code and other statutes establishing criminal offenses. The council will select an outside consultant to identify unused and obsolete provisions, clarify confusing language, eliminate inconsistencies, and consolidate or eliminate redundant provisions. The advisory council will review the consultant's report and develop recommendations. The council consists of a prosecuting attorney, a criminal defense attorney, a legal educator, a retired judge, and the Attorney General or their designee.
