Maine LD312 removes speed limits for school buses when transporting pupils.
Maine LD312 amends the state's motor vehicle code to remove speed limits for school buses when transporting pupils. Previously, school buses were limited to 25 miles per hour in business or residential districts and 45 miles per hour on other public ways. The bill repeals these speed restrictions, allowing school buses to travel at the posted speed limit on all public ways when transporting students.
