Maine LD267 allows remote appearances by counsel in pretrial nontestimonial criminal matters unless justice requires otherwise.

Maine LD267 amends the law to require courts to schedule pretrial nontestimonial criminal matters in a manner that permits the appearance of counsel by remote methods to the greatest extent possible. The term "remote methods" is defined as in Title 1, section 403-B, subsection 1. This change applies unless justice requires otherwise.
