Removes the 12-month waiting period for the Maine Resident Homestead Property Tax Exemption.

This bill removes the 12-month waiting period for the Maine Resident Homestead Property Tax Exemption. It allows eligible applicants to receive the exemption immediately. The exemption applies to the just value of $10,000 of the homestead of a permanent resident who has owned a homestead in Maine for the preceding months. If the title to the homestead is held jointly, the exemption may be apportioned among the owners who reside on the property.
